As part of the commitment to more personalised care for patients, Practices are now required to allocate a named GP to all patients. The named GP will have overall responsibility for their patient's care and support, with lead responsibility for the co-ordination of all appropriate services.
Individual patients will be informed of their named GP at the first appropriate interaction with the Practice, however the Practice does keep a record of your named GP and if you wish to be told the name of your GP, please ask the receptionist when you are next in contact with the Surgery. Please note: there is no need to telephone the practice specifically to ask for this information - you can ask the receptionist when you next need to contact us.
Where a patient expresses a preference to which GP they have been assigned, the practice will make reasonable efforts to accommodate this request.
Having a named GP does not prevent you from seeing any other Doctor in the Practice. Your named GP will not be available at all times and there may be times when you need to consult with other Doctors in the practice, which you are free to do at any time.
